The Marcel Proust Busts

The originals of Marcel Proust busts are made by the artist Netty van Osch. The originals are made in ceramics, the artist is in this technique unrivaled in the Netherlands and has many exhibitions to her credit. (more info here)


The Marcel Proust Busts are made of bronze. Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin (more info on this)

 

When we make the busts, we use  the traditional lost wax method, the so-called 'a cire perdue' method, with which it is possible  to pour also quite complicated shapes in bronze
The production of the busts  differs almost nothing compared to the production in Proust's time. The production of the images is done by Sala Bronsgieterij in Arnhem in the Netherlands.
 

The Marcel Proust busts come in two sizes and can be supplied with or without base.
